Les Diablerets, Switzerland
Chapelle des Diablerets

Peace and serenity.

Les Diablerets rises majestically above the Swiss cantons of Vaud and Valais. The craggy, snow-capped mountains of the Alps are infamous for their distinctive, glaciated peaks and thrive with skiing aficionados during the winter and avid hikers on the glacier in the summer. Nestled within the impressive mountain massifs of Les Diablerets lies the charming Protestant chapel of Chapelle des Diablerets, radiating peace and serenity amidst the surrounding natural beauty.

Designated in a will by the widow of a lord of Pontverre to be bequeathed to Saint Théodule, the first Bishop of the Valais, the chapel has been around since the 13th-century. The antiquated foundations of the chapel show that it was built on a north-south axis and its ornately decorated main door was the one facing the fountain today. From the chapel, visitors can enjoy a beautiful, scenic view of the popular tourist attraction, the Glacier 3000, and soak in the calm and tranquillity of the natural landscape of the Swiss Alps away from the hustle and bustle of nearby city life.
