Channel Islands National Park

Close to the mainland, yet completely different from them.

The Channel Islands National Park consists of the five Channel Islands off the coast of California. Although close to the densely populated region of Southern California, its relative isolation means that the national park is largely left undisturbed. Visitors can go to the islands by boat or on board a small plane, before going around them by kayaks or on foot.

As there are five islands to choose from, visitors will definitely be spoilt for choice! Hence, it would be wise to see what you want to do before heading off to the park. Some of the activities available include hiking, camping, snorkelling, diving, and even whale watching. There’s something for absolutely everyone. So what are you waiting for? Come and enjoy the peaceful and serene nature of the park and take in its beauty and solitude!

Tips Before You Go
Regardless of what activities you plan to do, be sure to bring along some food and water, as well as a towel. Only two of the five islands have potable water, so bring extra bottles if necessary. While the activities may be similar across the islands, they will all give you different experiences. For instance, one island may require you to hike up craggy rocks and mountainous terrain, while another might simply require you to walk along a flat path and follow the signs. Do some research first, and choose the island that you think best suits you!
