Cedar Point

Greenery, rippling water and peaceful times.

Managed by the National Park Service, Cedar Point is one of the four sections of land that it owns within the Timucan Ecological and Historic Preserve. Over the past 2 centuries, the landscapes have changed vastly. A large part of this was the intensive agriculture that the area underwent during the 19th century, followed by it being a pine plantation the next century. Naturally, the land has changed. Today, the area boasts mature hardwoods and the salt marsh that makes for stunning scenery.

Hike the trails through the greenery, or if you're up for something different, you can even venture out on horseback! Want to admire the stunning beauty that is the marsh? With a boat ramp that proves to be the best aesthetic for many photos, you can even prepare to throw your hook in and reel in a catch from what is known as one of the best fishing spots in the region. If you're all about appreciating the animals that populate our world (for better or worse), birdwatchers will be delighted to keep an eye out for the 200 over species of birds that frequent the area. Don't forget to get that mesmerizing sunset photo, with patches of golden clouds reflected in the still waters of the marsh.
