Castle of Asklipio

Witness the awe-inspiring beauty of the Castle of Asklipio.

Built by the Knights of Saint John in the 13th century, the Castle of Asklipio is located 4 km uphill from Kiotari, in the island of Rhodes. Take a short, scenic hike from the village of Asklipios to see the ancient ruins of this medieval Crusader castle. Admire the impressive entrance and its grand arch before heading in to see the two cisterns in the castle compound.

Once used as a fortress, the strategic position of the Castle of Asklipio allowed vantage views over the surrounding hills and coastline. It is rumoured that there was once a tunnel from one of the houses in the village to the castle, so that the villagers could seek refuge in case of a pirate raid. Savour the panoramic view of the charming, rural Greek landscape around you. A perfect place to catch the stunning sunset over the seas of the island of Rhodes.
