Cascade Gardens

A perfect quick getaway from the city.

The Cascade Gardens, also known as the Cascades of Time Gardens, is a quick escape, minutes away from downtown Banff. It is best visited by those who desire going off the beaten path and getting away from the crowded spaces in Banff town. The colourful, picturesque gardens are terraced into the hillside with well-established paths, bringing you through the wide array of flora. Along the route are pavilions and benches that provide you good shade from the hot summer sun or simply allow you to rest and relax as you stroll through the gardens. The best time to visit is during the peak blooming season which is late May to early September but the other months are still great for visiting, as long as the gardens are not yet covered in snow (you will not be able to enjoy this great beauty which is being hidden underneath those layers of snow). Enjoy free admissions into the park as well! With the chance to have a picnic or even some barbequing with your loved ones, the Cascade Gardens is bound to keep you occupied.

Tips Before You Go
Do note that many tourists often miss the gardens as it sits at the back of the property shared with the Parks Canada Administration office so do pay special attention when making your way there. The best suggested spot that gives you great views over Banff Avenue is right at the front of the park’s building.
