Cape Otway Lighthouse

Australia’s oldest lighthouse has plenty of tales to tell.

Standing proudly at 20m-tall is Australia’s oldest lighthouse - Cape Otway Lighthouse. Functioning from 1848-1994, this lighthouse is steeped in history. Guides will be able to explain to you in detail about the shipwrecks that occurred along the coast, such as that of Canadian ship “Joseph H. Scammell”, whose contents were looted at the wreck site. Check out the WW2 Radar Bunker where you will be transported back to the 20th century and be immersed in the history of Australia in the Second World War. In addition, whale enthusiasts should try to make a trip here from winter to spring, as this spot is fantastic for witnessing migratory whales.
