The famous Calgary zoo is situated in Bridgeland, Calgary, Canada. It is easily accessible through Calgary’s C-Train light railway or even by bicycle and foot via the Bow River route. Much of the zoo’s area is situated on St. George’s Island in the Bow River. The zoo comes under the administration of the Calgary Zoological Society and remains home to almost 800 animals, excluding fish and invertebrate species. It spans over 120 acres and is segregated into six distinct visitor areas such as the Destination Africa, Penguin Plunge, Eurasia and Prehistoric Park amongst others.
