Enjoy a workout amongst the beauty of nature when you’re in Cabecera Park – it has one of the largest green areas in the city and comprises exotic trees and Mediterranean pines. Artificial spaces such as little islands at the bottom of the park’s little hills complements the greenery and provides for an even more picturesque workout session. If you’re looking for the optimal workout, combine a cardio session and strength training with the park’s differing paths and infrastructure available such as ramps and steps. Or for a more challenging walk/run, you can combine your route (which is 2.4km alone) with the paths of the adjacent Turia Park. Alternatively, you can swap your usual Sunday family destination to Cabecera Park – it’ll be a great place for you and your children as they can take rides on the lake in swan-shaped boats.

The 334,000 sqm area is also divided into four sectors: 1. Mountain viewpoint, 2. Mediterranean Riverside woodland, 3. Bioparc, and 4. Amusement park. A zoo in a park is pretty unusual, so that’s probably why Bioparc is one of the highlights of Cabecera Park. Encompassing approximately 40 species of animals mostly endogenous to Quebec, it seeks to educate the public on wildlife, sustainability, and conservation. Activities are held throughout the day (and night, depending on the season) – don’t miss the feeding sessions too!
