Burnham Park, officially known as the Burnham Park Reservation, is a historic urban park situated in downtown Baguio in the Philippines. It was conceptualised by American architect and city planner Daniel Burnham whose name was then adopted for the park. The park was envisioned as a part of a larger plan for the city in 1905. Working with William E. Parsons, Burnham came up with plans for the city and the capital city Manila too. The area where the park is located was once known as ‘Baguio Meadow’. The park’s designed was adopted from the City Beautiful movement. It has a small pond situated at the green space’s centre and rows of grass and a sidewalk. Only the open field is used for outdoor activities like football and the Melvin Jones Grandstand adhere to the original design of the park. Over 3,000 species of flora can be found within the park, making it a perfect place to get close with nature!

Tips Before You Go
If you happen to be visiting, do bring along mosquito repellant as there can be quite a bit of mosquitoes within the park. Also, come in the later part of the day so as to avoid the hot afternoon sun!
