Brooklyn Bridge

Suspend your disbelief as you marvel at the wonder that joins two of New York’s most popular boroughs.

Linking Manhattan and Brooklyn over New York City’s East River is the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the oldest bridges in the U.S. Completed in 1883, the bridge was constructed using a revolutionary method of suspension-bridge building. Architect John A. Roebling created this hybrid of a cable-stayed and suspension bridge for increased stability and the 1600 feet bridge has stood the test of time. You may choose to take a hop-on, hop-off bus service to see the bridge, but if you have the time, why not walk across one of New York’s iconic structures? You can get off the subway at the Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall station and stroll through the bridge, while taking in the magnificent sunset view.

Tips Before You Go
The bridge attracts huge crowds every single day of the year, even during the winter months when it is deathly cold. As such, it is recommended that you come here as early in the day so that you can actually have a proper stroll through the bridge. Once the crowds start streaming in, you can expect the walkway to jam up, especially since so many tourists are trying to take photos of themselves or of New York\'s neighbouring landmarks. You can participate in the boat ride too, but do take note that it operates on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you don\'t come early enough, you might end up getting turned away.
