Breheimsenteret, also known as the Breheim Centre, is one of the 3 visitor centres at the Jostedalsbreen National Park. Shaped like a pyramid, it is hard to miss this distinct building and remains a must-visit for all those curious to learn more about the National Park. The centre also acts a prominent landmark for meet-ups and the start-point for guided tours, glacier hikes and even rafting!
The Breheimsenteret features exhibitions that offer viewers a glimpse behind the natural wonder that is the Jostedalsbreen National Park. Attractions such as a botanical garden and a geological park allows visitors to learn more about the natural features that make up the Park itself. Should you grow an appetite, head on down to the cafeteria at the Breheimsenteret, which offers an unprecedented view of the Nigardsbreen Glacier.
Unfortunately, the Breheimsenteret was razed in a fire back in 2011, with the cause of the fire unknown till now. Nonetheless, the Breheimsenteret was rebuilt in 2013 and was re-opened by the Prime Minister of Norway himself.
