Born through an impassioned mission to bring raw wildlife to the urban masses.
In the city of Boyd Hills Nature Reserve one finds a harmonious community of creatures living in perfect sync with each. Like a spear aimed at the water, graceful anhingas pluck fish of Lake Maggiore as expert fishermen while the alligators idle and lounge on the shores of Lake Maggiore Island. Nests and padded beds of leather ferns create hideaways for camouflaged tree lizards, frilly necks and elongated tails the only sign of these shadowy hustlers. The leaf litter district is considerably more laid back, its main residents being the box turtles burying themselves within the rust reds and yellows of maple, sugarberry and bay leaves. Perhaps the most exclusive region of Boyd Hills is the arid plains of the sand scrub trails, the endangered gopher tortoises emerging from their burrows as nomads of the land. Few would think such variety could possibly coexist in nature and yet Boyd Hills is a thriving reflection of the diversity of its neighboring urban metropolis.
