Boras Djurpark

Getting up close and personal with the wildlife.

Borås Djurpark isn’t just any old zoo — its naturalistic enclosures aim to create an immersive environment for the visitor. In fact, it actually feels like you are practically interacting with the wildlife, and not just looking at them over a fence. Spread out over a sprawling 40 hectares, there’s plenty of room for the 80 different species of animals here to roam about. Characterized by rolling hills and shaded trees, the zoo is a green oasis in the middle of the city. With a collection of both African animals and traditional Nordic wildlife, it aims to showcase both the exotic and the familiar. Among its 500 exhibits are giraffes, lions, antelopes, and other proud creatures of the African Savannah. It even has the only African bush elephant in the whole of Sweden! Comprehensive and experiential, this zoo is the perfect place to bring your family for a magical day of discovery.
