Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Feed kangaroos and rub the backs of koalas to your heart’s content at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary!

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is a safe haven for animals, a conservation facility for endangered species as well as a rescue and rehabilitation centre for injured animals. Come face to face with Australia’s iconic animal mascots – kangaroos, koalas and Tasmanian devils! Here, you will get a unique opportunity to interact with these lovable animals instead of watching them from behind a cage. Take the chance to pet a koala – don’t pick it up to cuddle as this might give it undue stress – or feed one of the free-roaming kangaroos. A bag of kangaroo food will be given to you at the entrance so that kangaroos will come hopping up to you for a treat and a belly rub.

Remember to go for one of their informative and educational guided tours which is conducted several times a day and is completely free of charge! If you’re looking for a more personalised experience, you can even opt to book a private tour of the sanctuary. Don’t miss this chance to get up close and personal with Australia’s wildlife!

Tips Before You Go
Visitors can bring their own food into the zoo but bear in mind that strictly no feeding is allowed as what is edible for humans might actually not apply to these adorable animals and instead, cause them to get sick. Should you be self-driving and only leaving the sanctuary in the evening, do be sure to drive at lower speeds within the vicinity of the sanctuary to prevent any possible road kills.
