Bois de la Cambre

A beautiful urban park located in Brussels, Belgium.

The Bois de la Cambre, otherwise known as Teo Kamerenbos in Dutch, is an urban public park situated at the edge of the Sonian Forest in Brussels city. Covering an area over 1.23 square kilometres, it is linked to the rest of the municipality by Avenue Louise. Once a part of the old Forest of Soignes, the park was subsequently annexed to the city in the mid-19th century.

Featuring a small lake with an island in the centre, commonly known as Robinson’s Island, the park has transformed into an ideal location for those seeking to spend some quality family bonding time. Accessible by boat, this part of the park has certainly become much livelier. In addition to that, a chalet called Chalet Robinson was built on the island in 1877 but was destroyed by a fire in 1991. Reconstructed and opened to public once again in 2009, it today, houses a restaurant and ballroom. With much to explore, you sure will see for yourself how lovely this park is.
