Body Worlds

Not just a science museum, Body Worlds shows you your own anatomy in a way that you never imagined.

Ever wanted to understand the secret of happiness? Body Worlds may hold the answer for you, probably just not the one that you might expect. A self-styled anatomy-museum, Body Worlds will drastically redefine your understanding of happiness—by showing you how your body itself understands happiness. Memorable exhibitions include a preserved human body playing the saxophone, among others, in an attempt to show how physical processes such as common diseases and the working of our organs are linked to the pursuit of happiness. Together, they paint an astounding picture of the intricacy, finesse and ultimate vulnerability of the human body in a way that everyone can relate to.

With more than 200 anatomical specimens of real human bodies, it is the only exhibition in the world based on a donor programme. The bodies are preserved by a plastination technique, which renders them dry and odorless, hence you need not be apprehensive about any gory sights. The museum has already attracted more than 40 million visitors, and with such fascinating exhibits, it is undoubtedly worth a visit!

Tips Before You Go
The museum opens slightly longer on holidays and vacations, and different rates are available for groups, so that is something to take into consideration when planning your trip. Although the museum is ideal and educational for children, the minimum recommended age is 6 years old, and it might be best to prepare them for what they are about to see.
