Blue Lagoon Beach

One of Bali’s hidden treasures.

Clear, sapphire waters and a horseshoe bay, with palm trees forming nifty shade: this is the Blue Lagoon Beach. One of the lesser-known beaches in the regency of Karangasem in Bali, this beach will prove to be a treat for young and old alike. The beach is within walking distance of the Padangbai harbor, and entices its visitors with its underwater paradise.

Snorkeling enthusiasts are sure to find that a dive into these warm and inviting waters will transport them to a delightful underwater world where coral and vibrant marine life reside. Chase the shoals of ultraviolet fish, before you get distracted by shadowy movement in the reef crevices - are those camouflaged creatures? When you finally surface, the rocky hills in the distance will keep you entranced. If you tire of swimming about, the inviting white sand awaits you, where you can soak in some sun and sunbathe. When your stomach rumbles, you can grab some local favorites like nasi goreng from a nearby warung (a small restaurant or café), and then burn off the calories as you follow a cactus-fringed path to the headland where you can enjoy the stunning landscape overlooking the bay.

Tips Before You Go
Note that the coral reef is very close to the surface at low tide, so do be careful, and do not head out into unfamiliar depths of the water alone.
