Błonia

A wonderful space to play and to breathe in the city of Kraków.

An immense meadow with an area measuring 48 hectares, Błonia Park is a huge expanse of greenery directly adjacent to the city of Kraków, Poland. Once used by peasants from surrounding villages to graze their cows, it has since been transformed into a popular place for recreation. Today, it is common to see people just exercising or even playing a fun game of frisbee or football.

Designated as a National Heritage Site since the year 2000, the Błonia has held numerous high profile and large-scale events too, such as Celine Dion's “Taking Chances“ World Tour concert in 2008, which was attended by a crowd of nearly 55,000 people. Different popes have also held Mass here throughout the years, attracting large congregations. Błonia Park is truly a great place to people-watch, and absolutely lovely if you wish to simply lie on the grass and stare at the beautiful blue sky.
