Bixby Creek Bridge

California’s most photographed bridge.

The Bixby Creek Bridge is a single-span concrete bridge constructed in 1932, and is considered to be one of the tallest of its kind in the world. Built for the residents of the Big Sur area as they were virtually cut off during the winter, the bridge was hailed as an engineering marvel for its time.

Today, the bridge has become an attraction, drawing visitors from all over who seek to photograph its exquisite architecture and picturesque setting. In fact, some might say that the bridge , is probably the most photographed bridge in all of California. And who can blame them? After all, it does have a beautiful and aesthetically appealing design, as well as a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean. No photograph will ever be able to do this bridge justice.
