Bioparco di Roma

A slow walk in the park.

The Bioparco di Roma is Rome’s main zoological garden with a wide variety of animals from five continents, coming up to over 200 species. The park covers 17 hectares of land, complete with a lake, and is about twice the size of Buckingham Palace. The park has many areas within its grounds that allow animals to interact and even reproduce in its natural habitat. Additionally, in 2007, this biopark successfully bred an Egyptian Tortoise, a critically endangered species, from parents who were rescued from a smuggler's suitcase. Come and visit all the animals here in the Bioparco di Roma.
