Founded by Swami Vivekananda, the institution follows the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, a 19th century Bengali saint. Within the forty acres compound, there are various temples you can visit for prayer and meditation, or for those of you who want a closer look at the life of the founder, you can see the room where Swami Vivekananda lived the last few years of his life and eventually gained Mahasamadi (enlightenment).
