Bellevue Palace (Schloss Bellevue)

An important place of German governance and a beautiful architectural construct.

The official residence of the President of Germany since 1994, Bellevue Palace, French for “beautiful view”, is located on the banks of the Spree river. If its name is not enough to convince you to visit, Bellevue is the first Neoclassical building to ever exist in Germany. Its beauty accentuated by amazing Corinthian pilasters with wings on either side, this beauty is surrounded by a lush green park of 20 hectares as well!

Having had many important people walk through its hallowed halls, this is a must-visit for anyone wanting to geek out at such an important place for German governance. The grounds also provide solitude and peace for anyone wanting to stroll through and take in the majestic views. Truly a stunning site, the Bellevue Palace provides a good opportunity for history, politics, culture and aesthetics to meet and be enjoyed by the common man.
