Bell Tower, Split

Experience the best view in Split atop the iconic Bell Tower.

It would not be an exaggeration to describe the Bell Tower in Split as an icon of the city. Part of the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, the church building is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, while the Bell Tower is dedicated to Saint Domnius, Split's patron saint. The bell tower was originally built in the 13th century, but had to undergo a large amount of reconstruction in the 20th century.

At 57m high, you are guaranteed an amazing view of the whole town and harbor. However, do take note that the steps are rather narrow and require a good amount of climbing, so this might not be suitable for those afraid of heights. A ticket gives you access to the Cathedral, the Bell Tower, the crypt and Jupiter's temple. I guess those people afraid of heights will get to visit everything else except the Bell Tower then.

Tips Before You Go
Try to come as early as possible if you plan on climbing up the tower. Not only is the temperature cooler, but there will hardly be any people around, so you can just take your time to climb up without worrying about the people behind you getting impatient and pushing. Do take note that the bell tower is not accessible for those with difficulties walking however.
