Bell Church

An intricately designed building with flags, bells and dragons!

The Bell Church is situated north of the downtown area of Baguio along the road that leads to La Trinidad town in Benguet, Philippines. Within the compound are intricately designed arches and the buildings are adorned with colourful dragons, flags and bells. It comprises a pagoda and beautifully well-maintained greenery. There are some artefacts about Buddhism that you can find here, along with the history of China. During Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, Chinese tourists tend to flock to the Bell Church. Like all other Chinese festivals, the date of the new year is determined by the lunar/solar calendar rather than the typical calendar. Visitors who come here will pray for good fortune and health and the celebrations are highlighted with religious ceremonies given in honour of heaven and earth and to the gods of the household and the families’ ancestors.
