Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery

Experience a fun introduction into the world of economics and finance.

By far and large, talk of economics and finance puts many people to sleep. The Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Museum and Art Gallery seeks to shake things up a little, to get visitors a bit more invested in the stuff that everyone should know, but not enough care about. It intends to provide everyone, be they young or old, an informal education into Malaysia’s economy and its economic history.

They’ve done this by introducing interactive displays and games that make you forget that you’re learning something. And who doesn’t want that? Staying true to its purpose, the museum also offers a glimpse into the role that the central bank plays in a country, as well as the importance of financial planning. Some of its intriguing exhibitions include a collection of ancient coins, a gallery of the BNM’s private art collection and even an in-depth historical narrative of the Islamic banking system. There’s even a gallery for kids to have a fun time without spending (hopefully, any) money! Truly, the BNM Museum and Art Gallery is a place for everyone to learn something new!
