A sweet lovers’ paradise on Palawan Island.
Baker’s Hill originally started off with one bakery on its grounds. Ever since, it has grown into being a mini theme park aplomb with restaurants and cafes selling a wide variety of baked goods from pizzas, to confections, to Tamilok. One of the most popular dishes available is the Hopia (or Bakpia for Indonesian-speakers), a red bean-filled mooncake-like pastry created by the immigrants from the southeastern Fujian and Guangdong province of China. Other than Chinese-influenced pastries, you can also get Spanish bread and baked goods, a nod towards the Spanish history of the Philippines that has influenced its cuisine.
As a theme park, Baker’s Hill also has many statues including Marilyn Monroe, Snow White (with her seven dwarves), Siberian tigers and snakes, as well as a wooden viewing deck to climb and get a beautiful aerial view of the Palawan Island with its lush green vegetation and crystal blue seas. The entire park is separated into various themes, as seen by the display of these beautiful statues, and has plenty of areas for children to play in. The garden also features exotic birds including peacocks, as well as beautiful flower arrangements, making it a perfect place to rest and enjoy your baked goods, especially if you don’t fancy eating indoors in the Baker’s Kitchen. With so much to eat around, it’s no surprise that Baker’s Hill is also an excellent spot to buy Pasalubong for your family and friends back home.
