Bai Da Ong Dia Beach

Come experience the rocks of Bai Da Ong Dia in all their rugged glory!

Unlike many of the other pristine beaches in Vietnam, Bai Da Ong Dia is not known just for its fine smooth sand. Instead, this beach is beloved for the numerous giant rocks that litter its coastline, with them being nature’s very own sculpted art. Ong Dia means the ‘Earth God’ in Vietnamese, and the beach got its name because some locals visiting found a stone that resembled the likeness of the Earth God. After offering incense to their god, they were said to have been blessed with prosperity, hence they built a small shrine near the beach for others to pray as well. Other than the rocks, you can also expect concrete breakwater, a long sidewalk with shady coconut trees, a variety of water sports available, and if you just want to relax and not do anything, well, there’s a wide expanse of sand for you to sunbathe. And if you are looking for a meal after a long day of fun, some famous seafood restaurants Cay Bang Restaurant and Hoa Vien Brauhaus are located a leisurely stroll away, the perfect end to your evening!

Tips Before You Go
Because there aren’t many cafes on the beach, do get a drink at the bars near the water sports schools before venturing further down. Bring along your own water bottles as well, because it’s bound to get hot throughout the day, and you wouldn’t want to keep walking back and forth just to quench your thirst.
