Aston Hall

Like a home straight out of a literature novel.

Step into a world of English nobility akin to the descriptions from a Jane Austen or Charlotte Bronte novel at Aston Hall. This Grade I listed house completed in 1635 originally belonged to Sir Thomas Holte and was built in the Jacobean style by English architect John Thorpe. You must take a tour of Lady Holte’s Garden, located in the South Garden, where you will be greeted by symmetrical patterns and historical flora. However, the history of this hall is not all hunky dory. In fact, Aston Hall was attacked during the English Civil War in 1643, leaving it with a hole in its staircase courtesy of a cannonball. Head down to Birmingham and experience a piece of homely English history.
