Asian Civilisations Museum

Immerse yourself in ancient Asia at the ACM, Singapore.

Keen to learn about the rich history of Asia? Check out the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore, one of four historical museums available in this little red dot. Parallel to Singapore's multicultural background, the museum focuses on the historical links between Southeast Asia, China, India, and the Islamic world. Housed by the Singapore River, the Asian Civilizations Museum takes visitors on a journey behind the diverse heritage that makes Singapore the cultural melting pot it is today.

Explore "ancient religions", where the history of religions dating back a millennium is traced. A fan of ancient ceramics? Give the "Tang shipwreck" and "Chinese ceramics" permanent exhibitions a whirl and it will not disappoint. The museum also has a contemporary art space to depict the evolution of the Asian art scene over the years, a truly enriching journey that'll make you appreciate the timelessness of these exhibits. If you are lucky, you might be able to catch one of their lunchtime concerts for free!
