Armenistis Lighthouse

Be amazed by the lovely 19th century Armenistis Lighthouse.

Located on the northwestern tip of Mykonos, the beautiful Armenistis Lighthouse was built in 1891. The decision to build it was made after an English ship was wrecked in the north of the island, resulting in the loss of 11 members of the crew.

Standing proudly at a height of 19m, admire this well-preserved octagonal stone tower with its striking lantern and gallery. The original mechanism of the lighthouse won the international exhibition in Paris, being of French origin. From this lighthouse, you can savour the breath-taking scenery all around you. It is also a testimony to the rich maritime history of Mykonos. Be captivated by the mesmerising sea around the islands of Mykonos and watch boats traverse the waters. Be sure to catch the stunning sunset from the lighthouse, which offers a panoramic view.
