Paros, Greece
Aliki Beach

One of the gems of Paros, Alyki Beach is rich with history and tranquility.

Once upon a time, the little village of Alyki thrived with salt pans. Even though information about the village’s distant past is relatively scarce, it is worth remembering that the village once held an important position. Today however, the population is only 500, and most of the residents here catch fish for a living. This is fantastic news for those who love hanging out at simple, quiet places. Even though there are hotels and apartments available for rent in the area as well as taverns and cafeterias, they do not overcrowd the landscape. Most of these eateries are located at the waterfront, offering a breathtaking view of the sunset. Alyki is pristine like many other beaches in the Cyclades. Apart from relaxing at the seaside, you can also visit the nearby museum, or participate in a number of activities like traditional weaving workshops and blacksmith workshops. Don’t underestimate what this village has to offer by its size- you might just be surprised!
