A monument erected to commemorate one of the greatest figures of all time – Alexander the Great!
In the area of Nee Paralia, supposedly one of the most bustling areas in Thessaloniki city in Greece, you will definitely chance upon a monument erected to commemorate one of the well-known and influential people of all of history - Alexander the 3rd, or more commonly known as Alexander the Great!
The only son of King Philip who then inherited the throne of the Macedonian Kingdom in 336 BC, he extended the Macedonian influence to most of the Greek city states and demonstrated his brilliance in military strategy during his various conquests. Some of them included the Battles of Issus, Gaugamela and the Granicus River. Before his death in 323 BC, he had already dominated a large territory, from Thrace and Macedonia to the depths of Egypt to the Far East! Known to be a national hero, and truly representative of his name and deserving of this lovely statue.
